Great option if you have an island or table
I was looking into the 28" special from Costco, and looked at some competitors. I have a Kamado Joe and wanted a single table solution that would hold both of my cooking options. I learned that disassembling the non drop-in was not the best solution for heat dissipation. I was shocked to see the price and availability to be the best on the blackstone site, vs other major retailers and other restaurant supply sites.
The griddle arrived on time, in perfect condition and set up was a snap! I spent around an hour to season it - maybe 5 'cycles'. I started low with Made In seasoning wax and progressed to avocado oil and more and more heat.
The surface is nearly as slick as teflon and has been simple to keep clean!
I have been through steaks, eggs, bacon and quesadillas. Each cook is easier and easier.
I highly recommend this specific griddle if you have an island or table that has a specific layout that requires the drop-in model.
Also, an IR surface thermometer is a must have for beginners.
